Social Media Posts

What was the task?

Create social media captions for the new nonprofit as a way to establish a presence online and engage new followers. While these are technically considered “content,” they still have a copy goal: action. The goal was to get readers to take a small action such as sending a message or answering a question, which would eventually make them feel comfortable taking a larger action like buying tickets or making a donation.

What was the approach?

I wanted to make the posts short enough so that new readers wouldn’t just gloss over them. For some, I chose to go with quotes as a way to catch the attention of the reader. For others, such as the picture of the feet in pointe shoes, I chose to go with a truth that artists know all too well - pain is part of the process.

As a dancer myself, this project was not only a delight to work on, but it came quite easily for me too. After all, I fit right into their target audience!

Wild Alaskan Company - Wild Alaskan Salmon Subscription Box

What was the task?

Create a Facebook Ad that would entice readers to click through to a landing page, where they’d have the opportunity to buy a subscription box or learn more by joining the email list.

Two options were requested so that the company could perform an A/B test to see if prospects preferred shorter or longer form text.

What was the approach?

In the shorter version, I wanted to play with the word “wild.” At first, it seems as though they’re being asked if they want dinner to be crazy or reckless, which would grab their attention. When they read the second sentence, however, they see that it’s a reference to the wild-caught salmon, which entices them to click through and learn more.

With salmon being a superfood, I wanted to use the long version to point out this benefit. The health benefits are the primary benefit, followed by the secondary benefit of being able to have such a wonder delivered to your door. All this, of course, followed by the promise of a handsome discount.
